- Jon Arenz -

THE OWNER!

Jon grew up in Mandan, North Dakota, a "suburb" of Bismarck. While in high school, Jon first developed the love for photography while taking photos for the school newspaper. At that point, he decided to pursue photojournalism in college. Jon graduated with a degree in Mass Communications with an emphasis in Photojournalism from St. Cloud State University in Minnesota in the spring of 2003. Soon after graduation Jon and his wife, Dawn, moved to Brainerd, MN. In the summer of 2013, they decided to move back to the Bismarck/Mandan area, where the company is now headquartered. His background in photography ranges from newspaper to music (he shot touring bands professionally for about 3 years) to forensic photography to portraits and weddings, so he is well rounded. Today, most of BlackLine's work is split between weddings, portraits, and corporate commercial photography with the occasional exception of a band.

Jon is very easy-going, innovative, and inspired. He is also a dedicated photographer who always goes out of his way to get the best shot for his clients. He treats his clients like the personal friends, welcoming their questions and contact long after the shoot. He also realizes that people are not all the same and doesn't treat them or their pictures that way, so he tries to give every client a unique experience.
